My name is Emma Devine. I am a graduate of Kent State University, with a BFA in Visual Communication Design and a minor in Art History. After graduation, I moved from my home state of Ohio to Arkansas to accept the role of creative director at Arkansas Life magazine. During my time in Arkansas I’ve learned, experimented, and experienced much growth as a designer.
Visual Communication Design is problem solving, which I always approach through scrupulous research. I find myself mining the various arts, nature and most importantly, history, for sources of inspiration. As a result, my quest for unique solutions takes me to some interesting places and drives my exploration of alternate methods of execution.
Good design organizes and clearly conveys information, and I think the most brilliant design solutions are those that appear to communicate effortlessly. I truly relish the path through discovery, which frames the challenge to marry information with creativity.
